Care

Wash at 30 °C and air dry. Rinse thoroughly in fresh water after salt water or chlorinated water.

Product description

Half six on the Atlantic coast, the wetsuit dripping off the wing mirror, and the black high-waisted bikini bottoms went on an hour ago. Coffee from a flask, sand in everything.

The double-layer fabric makes them reversible: matt black on one side, a deep, muted navy on the other. The wide waistband folds down, the fit is close and stretchy, and they stay put while you paddle out. UPF 50 is built in.

This is ECONYL® swimwear through and through: 82% ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which Aquafil makes from nylon waste such as old fishing nets, carpets and fabric scraps, plus 18% elastane. “RESPECT THE LOCALS” is embroidered into the waistband. Black is for days when you’d rather not be noticed. Navy, admittedly, is no different.

Aquafil makes ECONYL® regenerated nylon from nylon waste such as old fishing nets, carpets and fabric scraps. According to Aquafil, it can be regenerated ‘over and over again as a single material, without any loss in performance or quality’. That’s about the fibre, not our fabric, which contains elastane. According to Aquafil’s LCA (ISO 14040/44), ECONYL® polymer causes 74% less CO₂ than Aquafil’s standard nylon.

We add elastane for stretch. The fabric feels velvety, moves with you and can take chlorine, salt water and sunscreen, with UPF 50+ sun protection.
